Kartaltepe Mensucat Fab T.A.Ş and Kilim Mensucat A.Ş, which are Kilim Group companies that have proven their success with investments made with a sustainability understanding and quality assurance systems, continues on its way with an annual production capacity of 24 million meters of fabric and 12 thousand tons of yarn, with thousands of employees and a machine park modernized with the most advanced technologies in an area of 150 thousand m2.

In yarn production, 100% cotton, cotton-polyester, cotton-nylon, cotton-viscose, cotton-elastane and shantung varieties are produced with the ring track, open-end and bobbin yarn machinery park. In the indigo department, dyeing is carried out with different variations in rope dyeing machines according to customer demands and fashion trends. Threads that complete the dyeing phase; after rope opening and sizing processes, it is sent to the weaving unit. Weaving process is completed as denim and non-denim fabrics on dobby and jacquard looms with the latest technology.

Care is taken to ensure that all dyes and chemicals used in Kartaltepe Mensuat Fab. T.A.Ş facilities are certified within the scope of ZDHC, an international platform. Waste water conformity checks, tests and trainings are carried out for chemicals in the Manufacturing Restricted Substance List  (MRSL), and it is ensured that the restricted chemicals are controlled and used within the allowed limit values. In this way, the chemical load in the wastewater is also reduced.

For the “ZDHC Gateway Module”, a sample of our wastewater is taken twice a year and the chemicals we use are recorded. The chemicals to be used are tested according to the applied test acceptance methods and are used in production if they show appropriate performance.

By using the Higg Index Facility Environment Module (FEM), developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC), a platform where member brands, retailers and manufacturers in our sector, established for sustainable production, share their best practices with transparency, at least once a year, environmental, energy, water, waste water, Data entries are made on emissions, waste and chemicals management, and our environmental sustainability performance is measured and reported.

In addition, SEDEX audits try to reduce the damage to the environment by keeping the health and social security of employees in the foreground throughout all production processes.

With HAMLE Tekstil San. Ve Tic. A.Ş., it produces 20 million meters of contract dye-printed finished fabrics annually in the field of outerwear and woven fabric.
